Alumni Association Chapters
Recognized and chartered organizations established under the corporate umbrella of the FIU Alumni Association. Chapters consists of alumni and friends who live in an assigned geographic area, are associated with a college or professional school, or who have a shared special interest. A steering committee and/or board of directors must be formed in order to be considered a chartered chapter.
Alumni Association Contacts
Individual volunteers living in an area where an official board of directors or steering committee has not been formed. Volunteers serve as a point of contact for alumni and friends traveling to the area and resource for FIU faculty and staff. Contacts may be called upon to assist the Alumni Association in developing and coordinating activities for area alumni.
Purpose
The purpose of the Alumni Association is to foster a spirit of loyalty and to promote the general welfare of the university. Clubs support the association's goals and help strengthen the ties between alumni, the community, and the university.
Mission
As an extension of the FIU Alumni Association, alumni chapters serve the community of FIU alumni, students, and friends by providing lifelong connections to Florida International University
Primary Goals & Objectives
- Coordinate local alumni activities and events in support of FIU
- Provide career networking opportunities for alumni
- Promote membership in the Alumni Association
- Serve as an official contact for the Alumni Association and University
