16th Annual Torch Awards Gala @ JW Marriot Marquis Miami
Apr 1 @ 6:30 pm

In April of 2017, the FIU Alumni Association will host the Torch Awards Gala at the JW Marriot Marquis Miami. This award ceremony was created in 2000 as the highest honor given to alumni by the FIU Alumni Association. Recipients are recognized according to their achievements in their specific professional industry and their contributions to society.

The FIU Alumni Association will celebrate the accomplishments of these prominent alumni and faculty members in style, offering dinner and musical entertainment. Whether you enjoy fine dining or the opportunity to network with members of the community, this evening will prove to be unforgettable.

Net proceeds of the Gala will support the future construction of the FIU Alumni Center, as well as support the First Generation Scholarship Fund. Philanthropic support to the scholarship fund is matched 100 percent by the state, making this fund a critical priority for the institution. 90 percent of fund recipients are minorities; the proposed gift is a unique opportunity to enhance the university’s ability to affect transformational change in the lives of South Florida’s underserved students.
