On Thursday, January 23, FIU’s recently remodeled air traffic control tower building officially became the new home for the Veteran and Military Affairs office.
President Rosenberg along with the FIU Veterans Alumni Chapter Vice President and Director of FIU’s Veteran and Military Affairs Office, Mike Pischner, welcomed Congressman Joe Garcia, Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, Lt. General Tovo, Deputy Commander of U.S. Southern Command and Mr. Paul Russo, Director of the Miami VA Healthcare system along with other distinguished guests from FIU and the community at the building’s ribbon cutting ceremony.
Guests were welcomed by FIU Veteran Alumni Chapter leaders and members as they toured the facility. The building features a kitchen, computer lab, conference room and other amenities to help our veteran students feel at home on campus.
