2014-2015 FIU Ambassadors Announced

Established 8 years ago, the University Ambassadors is an organization that exemplifies the FIU motto – “Worlds Ahead”.  Since its inception, it has been FIU’s premiere student leader organization. To be selected as an Ambassador is an honor, a privilege and an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.  To be an FIU Student Ambassador you must be an active member of the FIU Student Alumni Association; your FIU SAA as it’s more popularly known, fosters school spirit and traditions at FIU, encourages active relationships with alumni and students, and cultivates future alumni leaders.

The elite membership of the FIU Ambassadors is reserved for students who have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.75, who are well rounded, involved on and off campus and who strive for success in all areas.  These students must possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, a genuine interest in meeting new people and a sense of school spirit and pride like no other Panther!  Our FIU Student Ambassadors serve as the official representatives for the university both within the university as well as throughout the community at select donor, alumni, student and faculty/staff events.

This year’s group of Ambassadors is World’s Ahead in their academics, holding an average GPA of 3.4, all of our students are involved both within the university and throughout the community and I can attest that each student is very determined in their goals to gain success in the future.  Many of our selected Ambassadors have already attained high level internships within FIU, as well as outside in companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Merrill Lynch.  Some of our Ambassadors have started new initiatives even before coming to FIU such as the Latino Mentorship Initiative Program which partners with Harvard University.  Many of our students are in the Honors College, take part in Greek Life at FIU and take pride in supporting many university and community initiatives.

There is no doubt that this elite group of students will definitely impact our FIU and the many events and constituents they will serve.  Congratulations to our 2014-2015 FIU Ambassadors:
