Why he joined the FIU Alumni Association: I joined the Alumni Association because I am proud to be a Golden Panther and so very proud of how far the University has come since my graduation 25 years ago. It is a university I cherish and am looking forward to getting even more involved in the coming years. I am also very proud of my role, as a executive with Southern Wine and Spirits of South Florida, to have been one of the catalysts in starting the initial FIU Wine and Food festival on campus in the early 2000’s as well as helping to steward the festival into what it is today, The South Beach Wine and Food Festival.
What does FIU mean to him: FIU is a special place to me as it set me on the path I have been on since graduation. When I came to FIU, I was struggling to find my career, but through the dedication of the faculty of the School of Hospitality Management, I found my passion and have enjoyed a great career with Southern Wine and Spirits as well as my current role. I am also proud to say that my oldest son is currently enrolled as a Sophomore at FIU.
