WPLG-TV, Local 10, the ABC affiliate in Miami-Fort Lauderdale announced today the launch of a new, weekly show, “SoFlo HOME PROJECT,” featuring Martin Amado ’96, which will debut Saturday, April 2 at 11:00 am. Host of SoFlo HOME PROJECT will be South Florida home designer, Martin Amado. “We are extremely excited about our newest locally-produced show in our Saturday morning lineup. SoFlo HOME PROJECT joins Local 10 News and SoFlo TASTE, to round-out our Local 10 Saturday morning schedule,” said WPLG, President, Bert Medina, “and it’s great to have Martin Amado hosting the show. His years of experience on local and national TV make him uniquely qualified for this exciting new show.”

Martin Amado is an interior decorator, lifestyle expert, and prolific writer on the subject of home décor. He’s been a fixture on local South Florida TV for the past 11 years. In addition Martin’s been featured on numerous Spanish-language media platforms airing nationally in the United States and throughout Latin America. He is currently the host of “ION@Home” seen nationally on ION Television. He’s also been a guest expert for the HGTV (Home & Garden Network) “Home,” on the Home Shopping Network and as a host/designer for HGTV shows such as “Small Space,” “Big Style” and “Decorating Cents.”

“On SoFlo HOME PROJECT I will specialize in makeovers, working with SoFlo HOMERS (home owners) to achieve the decorator-look for less,” said Martin Amado, “I’ll be showing our viewers actual projects, they can do at home, for their home.” SoFlo HOME PROJECT will also have other features including, outdoor spaces, landscape design, and Real Estate. “We have scheduled SoFlo HOME PROJECT immediately following Local 10 News and SoFlo TASTE, South Florida’s #1 weekend morning lineup,” said Medina, “SoFlo HOME PROJECT is the next step in our mission to super-serve our South Florida community.”
