FIU Embrace is a university-wide initiative that promotes health, wellness and strives to improve the overall functioning of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), and Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders (OND). Through research, educational opportunities, and services FIU Embrace strives to positively impact the lives of affected individuals, their families and student learners.
On Tuesday July 19, 2016, FIU Embrace and the Family Care Council will be hosting two sessions about the ABLE Act presented by ABLE United.
The Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act authorizes states to create tax-free savings accounts for individuals with disabilities. ABLE United, Florida’s qualified ABLE program, was established to encourage and assist people with disabilities to save private funds to support health, independence and quality of life.
