\"\"What do you love most about FIU and your involvement here?<\/strong>
\nI love the opportunities and diversity at FIU. In FIU you are exposed to so much culture and knowledge. Whatever you have an interest in, there is a place where you can go and cultivate that curiosity.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to a potential donor who is considering investing in FIU?<\/strong><\/span>
\nFIU is a university that gives to its students. If you give to FIU, it will help the students directly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do you think giving back is important to the advancement of FIU and its students?<\/strong>
\n<\/b><\/span>Alumni are what really give a university prestige. When an FIU alumnus or alumna does well, it reflects positively on the University and vice versa. If you give to the University, it will translate to better alumni.<\/p>\n

Where has life taken you since graduating from FIU?<\/strong><\/span>
\nI have worked in the medical device industry for the past five years. I was able to take the TrueMetrix product to market in my previous position and currently I am working on cardiovascular implants to treat aortic aneurysms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do you feel it is important for alumni & donors to stay engaged\/connected with FIU?<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe alumni are in a position to give a great deal of helpful advice and guidance to students with a small investment of their time and energy. Alumni can teach students the skills which academics cannot give, and this leads towards more successful future alumni.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did FIU prepare you to get where you are professionally?<\/strong><\/span>
\nFIU always supported my endeavors. In the beginning FIU supported 100% of the cost of my undergraduate education. Throughout my undergrad FIU paid for me to publish, conduct laboratory research and attend national conferences. In my graduate years FIU supported me through a teaching assistant position. Every time I needed help, FIU was there to offer it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What advice would you give to students and young alumni?<\/strong><\/span>
\nFor students, I would say to make the most of the opportunities around you. FIU offers many opportunities to publish research, study abroad and develop a multitude of professional skills. For young alumni, I would say to stay connected to your department and continue to network within the University. Many times people think the relationship with the University ends at graduation and this is not the case. Your\u00a0department and the University are still a resources that you can use to develop yourself professionally and personally as a graduate.<\/span><\/p>\n
