The building consists of a ground-level Whole Foods Market; a 12-story parking garage; and a 33-story, 462-unit residential apartment building.<\/p>\n<p>Morejon, who previously\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.fiu.edu\/2013\/08\/ohl-school-of-construction-student-excels-in-summer-internship\/64973\" target=\"_blank\">interned at Suffolk Construction<\/a>\u00a0during the construction of the garage, is now assistant superintendent of the project. Morejon earned his degree in 2013 and says his internship \u201cpaved a road to success, not only with the company, but with FIU.\u201d \u00a0It gave him the opportunity to experience the course material hands-on, which gave him an edge in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>During his internship, he also participated in the Associated Builders and Contractors Construction Management Competition, where the top universities compete to create the best virtual construction project. FIU came in first place in the 2014 competition out of 19 colleges and universities that participated.<\/p>\n<p>Morejon also connected with important mentors.
