Alexander F. Yahr was an investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist with an extensive record of accomplishment in the real estate, design and construction industries. A native of Miami Beach, Yahr was a new principal in U.S. Construction Corp., Miami, and was active in the business. In addition, he headed Miami Design Capital, a private equity investment firm with a portfolio that includes investments in multiple companies and real estate development projects. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from Florida International University, and was active with the Florida International University College of Communication, Architecture and The Arts, having served as a board member of the College’s Design Advisory Board. He was also a longtime supporter of FIU’s “Festival of the Trees.” Yahr was a licensed general contractor and realtor and was a noted interior design consultant.
