Dr. Brian Machovina is an entrepreneur, inventor, and scientist. He is the co-founder of Healthy Foods LLC and co-inventor of Yonanas®, a kitchen appliance that turns frozen fruits into a treat that looks and tastes like soft-serve ice cream. Previously, he’s directed an alliance protecting coastal ecosystems and co-developed a charity which protected rainforests in Latin America. Dr. Machovina has recently invented Coreyak™, an at-home kayaking simulator, which will launch soon.

He holds a B.S. in Biology and Ecology; a M.S. in Biology and Ecology; and a Ph.D. in Biology—all from Florida International University. His Ph.D. research focused on the ecological benefits of reducing meat consumption, and he was named a Worlds Ahead Associate during his doctoral graduation. In 2014, Dr. Machovina and his wife Eileen (’92) were selected as speakers for TEDxFIU, co-presenting “Eat Healthier and Save the Environment.”
