As an advanced registered nurse practitioner with Miami’s Gastro Health, Boytell-Perez specializes in the treatment of patients with liver diseases. She also serves as the center’s coordinator of hepatitis research. As an expert in this area, she frequently travels across the country to speak about the field’s new and improving treatments and education of hepatitis and liver diseases. Boytell-Perez champions health care and education, especially for physically and developmentally disabled children and adults. She serves on the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences Dean’s Leadership Council, FIU Foundation’s Next Horizon Campaign Steering Committee, Gilead’s Nursing Advisory Board and the boards of the United Cerebral Palsy South Florida, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and FIU’s Pi Alpha Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. She and her husband, Jorge, are generous supporters of multiple organizations, including the United Way of Miami-Dade County, the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences, the Frost Art Museum and the Cuban Research Institute of our FIU. Most notably, their transformational support created the internationally renowned Pérez Art Museum Miami. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Torch Award and the FIU Commencement Medallion of Honor.
