Dr. David Van Rooy is Vice President, Executive Development at Walmart. Prior to his current role, he led Walmart’s performance management and employee engagement programs—covering approximately 2.2 million employees—while also being responsible for global leadership development and international HR strategy and operations. Before his time with Walmart, he led similar programs at Burger King Corporation and Marriott International, Inc.

Dr. Van Rooy received the Distinguished Early Career Contributions award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His book Trajectory: 7 Career Strategies to Take You from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be was published by the American Management Association, and he’s published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific business articles and book chapters. His work has been covered by leading outlets including USA Today, Forbes, Fox News, and the BBC. He received his doctoral degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Florida International University.
