Hanadys “Hany” Ale came from her native country, Cuba, to Florida when she was 20 years-old. She received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences in 2008 from FIU, graduating summa cum laude. She was accepted as part of the inaugural class of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, from which she graduated with honors in 2013. Ale pursued her residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, also graduating top of her class.
She has been invited to speak at several FIU Alumni events; recently, she was one of the guest speakers at the 2016 MEDxHWCOM. Her work has been presented at venues such as The College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and The Clinical Immunology Society. In July 2018, she became the first graduating Allergy and Immunology fellow of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s new A/I fellowship program in combination with Cleveland Clinic Florida. Now, she works as a Pediatric Immunologist and Allergist doctor at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
