Ranu Jung holds the Wallace H. Coulter Eminent Scholars Chair in Biomedical Engineering and is Interim Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at FIU. She is the director of FIU’s Adaptive Neural Systems Laboratory, where engineers and scientists are developing technology to offset the effects of limb amputation and to assist people with neurological disorders. She is also a co-founder of a rehabilitation technology research and development start-up, Advensys, LLC. Dr. Jung has published an edited book on neuroengineering and has co-edited the first Encyclopedia of Computational Neuroscience. In 2013, she was selected as fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Her other honors include the Florida Board of Governor’s New Florida Scholars Boost Award and the FIU 2012 Top Scholar Award. Dr. Jung takes great pride in working with undergraduate students and has helped develop a strong senior design showcase for biomedical engineering.
