Thomas M. Cornish

Thomas M. Cornish is the Chief Operating Officer for BankUnited. He currently serves as the chairman of the Florida International University Foundation Board of Directors. He is also the chairman of the Wolfsonian-FIU and Chairman of the Board of the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. In previous positions, he has served as President, Florida Region for BankUnited; President and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Agency, Florida Region; and held several senior leadership positions with SunTrust Bank.

While with Marsh & McLennan Agency, Mr. Cornish was recognized as "Miami's CEO of the Year" by the South Florida Business Journal and the "Ultimate CEO" by Business Leader Magazine. In 2013, he was elected to the FIU School of Business Hall of Fame. Additionally, he is a past chairman of the Beacon Council and Assurex Global Corporation. Mr. Cornish earned a B.B.A from FIU.
