The Young Alumni Council is organized as a part of the FIU Alumni Association and is comprised of outstanding young graduates that have a special vision for FIU and their peers. With more than 70,000 alumni ages 35 and younger, the Young Alumni Council is the focused voice of FIU graduates in the community. Officers are committed to providing career, networking, leadership and philanthropy opportunities for their fellow young alumni in order to showcase, mentor, and promote the exceptional graduates that FIU produces.

Evan will present the life that stands before you in the characters in his book. You may recognize yourself in some of them. Along the way you will gain an understanding of the importance of taking time right now to gain a better understanding of what you want out of your life and regardless of others expectations, do what you need to do to explore the jobs, responsibilities, and industries that will feed your personal happiness and desire to make a difference.
 
Just like the characters in Evans book, Evan will remind you that you will face difficult people who for a multitude of reasons will put roadblocks in front of you that can slow down, or alter your career path. You will learn how to transcend issues and events that could keep you from reaching your dream job. Join Evan to gain a learn insights into how you can control your destiny by building a solid foundation in your twenties!

Join us ONLINE July 27th – 29th from 11 am – 10 pm EDT to learn career and job search tips from 27 career authors, a dozen career coaches and 27 companies with tools designed to get you noticed! We have 33 hours of LIVE career discussions scheduled for you.

If you are like most graduates, you spent your college years fulfilling the academic and cultural requirements to earn your diploma. In fact, research by NACE suggests that nearly 62 percent of graduating seniors will either NEVER visit the career center, or only visit once or twice.

We get it!

That’s why we’ve organized this MASSIVE 3-day Grad CareerFestival.

We’ve assembled 27 of the nation’s top career authors, over a dozen career coaches, and 27 companies that provide innovative online job search tools to give you the confidence, knowledge, and skills land your first professional job quickly,

The Grad CareerFestival is organized into four tracks

  1. Career Management – On Thursday, July 27th, nine career authors, and nine online career tool providers will provide tips, strategies, and advice on managing one’s career.
  2. Job Search: On Friday, July 28th, nine authors, and nine online career tool providers will offer tips, strategies, and advice on managing the job search process.
  3. Post-Graduation Advice – On Saturday, July 29th, nine authors, and nine online career tool providers will provide tips, strategies, and advice on navigating post-graduation life.
  4. Career Coaching – Each day from 8 pm – 10 pm EDT four certified career coaches will lead thought-provoking discussions to help you find direction and meaning in launching and leading a successful career and life.
