Biography
Janet Careaga leads internal corporate communications for community impact and sustainability at Amazon, where she helps shape how the company’s global workforce engages with initiatives that support local communities and environmental responsibility. She previously led U.S. Hispanic communications for Amazon’s retail business, managing campaigns for the largest shopping moments of the year including Prime Day, back to school, and the holiday season. Careaga also serves on the global board of Latinos at Amazon, the company’s employee-led group dedicated to increasing representation, fostering inclusion, and advocating for Latino employees, customers, vendors, and creators.
Careaga has focused her career on community-driven communications and championing representation across corporate and agency roles. Prior to Amazon, she developed multicultural brand campaigns for companies including Target, McDonald’s, DISH Network, Neutrogena, and others, working across a range of industries.
Careaga earned her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Florida International University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Ventures, a Seattle-based nonprofit supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs, and is a Patron for the Sponsors for Educational Opportunities (SEO) Protégé program. She is also a member of the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) and the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA).
