Daniela Jean '17

Daniela Jean was Born in Paris, France, and raised in North Miami Beach. Commissioner Jean attended all local schools in NMB: Fulford Elementary, JFK Middle, and North Miami Beach Senior High School. Her first job as a teen was at the NMB Library. Daniela earned her Associate's degree at Miami Dade College, her Bachelor’s in Biology from Barry University, and her Master’s in Global Strategic Communications from Florida International University. Her academic and professional achievements reflect her commitment to fostering innovation and equity across disciplines.

In her professional capacity, she serves as a social strategist, speaker, and author, as well as Assistant Professor who inspires to mentor the next generation of leaders.

A leader driven by empowerment and equity, Daniela has mentored over 100 youth in South Florida and spearheaded initiatives that bridge art, education, and community development. As a councilor on the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council, she continues to champion accessibility to arts and culture in her community. Additionally, Daniela led the City of North Miami Beach's Art in Public Places initiatives, launching various art and writing contests for youth to showcase their creativity and amplify their voices.

Daniela’s work extends beyond mentorship to impactful public service. She is passionate about corporate social responsibility (CSR) and small business development and has 8 years of experience working in local government. Through her leadership and dedication, she has made meaningful contributions to civic engagement, education, and the arts.
